Synthetic Wig Care - Professional Secrets

Posted by admin on 13 May 2008 | Tagged as: Gender Issues Tips

Synthetic wigs are very easy to care for. You don’t need to
restyle your wig after each washing, like you would with a
human-hair wig. However, it is important to point out that
human-hair shampoos and other care products are unsuitable for
synthetic wigs. Even the mildest shampoo that you might use on
your own hair is too strong for the synthetic fibers used in a
wig. The same can be said about hair styling mousses, sprays and
gels - don’t attempt to use them on your synthetic wig.

Instead, use shampoos, conditioners and hairsprays specially
formulated for synthetic wigs. Raquel Welch, Revlon, and Tress
Allure produce wide ranges of wig care products, and all of
these brands work well with any synthetic wig. Most websites
that sell wigs offer wig accessories, too, so it is smart to
pick a wig shampoo, conditioner and spray when you order your
wig.

Another thing to remember is that synthetic wigs cannot be
styled with curling irons, hot rollers or blow dryers. In fact,
any heat can destroy your wig, so be careful to keep it away
from lamps, ovens, etc. Most synthetic wigs are already
prestyled but, if you want to add a bit of personality to it,
you can use a mousse that is specially formulated for synthetic
wigs and style it with your fingers.

Washing synthetic wigs - step by step

A synthetic wig doesn’t need to be washed very often - after 10
or 12 wears is usually enough. Still, you might have to wash
your wig more often if you use a lot of spray or mousse on it.
Every washing shortens the life of your wig, so our advice is
try not to use excessive styling products on it, and don’t wash
your wig until it looks like it needs to be washed.

1. Remove tangles with your fingers and gently brush your wig.
The only exception is wigs that are very curly - don’t attempt
to brush them

2. Fill a basin with cool water (hot water can damage your wig),
mix a little bit of synthetic wig shampoo into it and place your
wig in the water. Leave it to soak for about 5 minutes.

3. Swirl your wig around in the water, but don’t rub the
fibers

4. Rinse your wig under running water

5. Shake excess water off your wig and spread it on a towel to
dry. Alternatively, you can put it on a wig stand. If you have
wig conditioner, put it on the wig and gently work it through
the strands with your fingers. Remember you can’t use blow dryer
on a synthetic wig, so place your wig in a warm room with good
ventilation and let it dry naturally

6. Brush your wig when it is completely dry and it is ready to
wear again. Again, don’t brush wigs that are very curly.

As you can see, caring for a synthetic wig is really easy. And
having a wig or several differently styled wigs can really help
you to change your look in an instant.

Choose The Perfect Wedding Bands

Posted by admin on 20 Apr 2008 | Tagged as: Gender Issues Tips

You’re in the market for your wedding rings. You’ve put alot of
thought into them, and you don’t want the plain bands everyone
else is wearing. You want something different, more unique.
Here’s some ideas to toss around.

You can have custom bands done by a jeweler. You could pick a
theme that’s important to both of you. Or you could just choose
a style and design you both like. When you choose your jeweler
make certain he is creating a one of a kind set for you and then
disposing of the mold. Otherwise, your unique bands won’t be
unique for long. Choose a design and style that fits your likes
and lifestyle. It will give a hint of your personality and make
your fashion statement!

You can choose a different mix of metals. Titanium has become
very popular, as has stainless. You might find something a
little different in these metals. They won’t be truly unique,
but they won’t be common either. You can also choose from white
gold, platinum, gold, sterling, and a host of mixes.

Celtic bands have become very popular, offering a host of
various celtic knots. Dragon bands have also gained popularity.
There are some very unique and unusual Celtic Bands on the
market. They are works of art with plenty of history tied to the
designs.

Engraving on the bands has become very popular. In the past one
might engrave something on the inside of the band, but these
days inscriptions are being engraved on the exterior as well.

Wanting to engrave them, but don’t want them to say the same old
thing you always see like your wedding date, or I love you. Then
come up with your original saying or inscription. Something that
is important to you.

Here are a few more unusual inscriptions you might want to
consider. Amor VIncit Omia [latin - love conquers all], Now &
Forever, From This Moment On, Mon Coeur est a vous [French - my
heart is yours],

If your looking for something funnier try - Nonrefundable, All
sales final, Or I can’t return him/her I lost the manual.
Something simpler, try your wedding date with your initials, how
about the title of your wedding song, or the title of your
favorite song, My best friend, Love is Eternal. Symbols work
nicely also.

Uniqueness is dependant on you as a couple. By this time in your
relationship you know what is special to both of you, so choose
a theme and go with it!

Natural Hormone Balance Part 1

Posted by admin on 04 Apr 2008 | Tagged as: Gender Issues Tips

Women’s health issues nowadays include some popular buzz
wordsPMS, estrogen, cancer, hot flashes, natural progesterone,
acne, headaches, menopause, and so on. The words are causing
great debate amongst the medical industry.

International Health Distribution, founders of
IHDistribution.com, strongly advocates that the number one key
to achieving and maintaining your healthno matter what your
ageis Natural Hormone Balance.

All-natural progesterones have recently been highlighted in the
press as the solution of choice for menopausal afflictions. Dr.
John Lee wrote the landmark book on the subject titled “Natural
Progesterone, The multiple Roles Of A Remarkable Hormone.” He
found progesterone to be a major hormone that is regularly
produced throughout a woman’s menstrual cycle in more abundance
than estrogen. His findings confirmed that progesterone is the
principle hormone in women. Conversely, the existing medical
education system for day-to-day practice is not in sync with
progesterone as a health aid for women.

Dr. Lee was an industry leader dedicated to crusading the
medical establishment’s dangerous and longtime use of hormone
replacement therapy (HRT) years before the true risks of HRT
became evident in the Women’s Health Initiative. Sadly,
74-year-old Dr. Lee suffered a fatal heart attack on October 17,
2003.

The therapeutic modality in practice today is the use of
prescribed synthetic hormones. The great debate continues
between the use of synthetic estrogen vs. natural progesterone
for the relief of symptomatic menopausal ailments and general
well being. Transdermal (rubbed into skin) progesterone creams
can be purchased over the counter, while synthetic hormones can
only be obtained with a prescription from a licensed physician.

Pharmaceutical lobbyists, the AMA (American Medical
Association), and the entire medical/pharmaceutical complex
stand firmly behind the use of typical HRT. Several recent
studies (published in the Detroit News) indicate that millions
of women could be supported with only the replacement of a
natural hormonebut they’re being denied due to the continuing
pressures of old-school pharmaceutical companies and physicians.

Consider the study conducted by Dr. Susan Hendricks, who found
that long-term use of estrogen and progestin significantly
increased the chances of cancer, stroke and heart attack.
Estrogen and progestins have been used to replace hormones that
are no longer produced during menopause. The lack of these
natural hormones triggers the common menopausal side effects
such as hot flashes, mood swings, and insomnia. Dr. Hendricks’
study included 16,608 women between the ages of 50 and 79, at 40
hospitals nationwide.

Hendricks’ case study results of long-term use of estrogen and
progestin: stroke risk rose 41%, heart attack risk rose 29%, and
cancer cases increased 26% above average.

Premarin , which is the most common HRT being prescribed today
for menopausal women, is a unique blend of horse hormones, which
include only minute amounts of progesterone. While prevalent
thinking was the “horse juice” prevented osteoporosis, recent
studies indicate that it is likely the small amount of
progesterone that is actually beneficial. Despite recent
studies, there is still no endorsement of transdermal
progesterone by the medical community at large. However, there
is an increasing use of progesterone creams by women outside the
medical establishment due to heightened publicity.

Since Dr. Lee’s book hit the shelves more medical professionals
have been conducting rigorous studies and are now claiming that
it is impossible to deny the viability of natural progesterone
creams .

Much debate exists over the words progesterone, progestins, and
natural progesterone. International Health Distribution defines
these terms in an effort to clarify any misconceptions … but
you’ll have to stay tuned for Part II of Natural Hormone Balance.
